OnePlus 15 Gaming Test BGMI 120FPS – IQOO 15 Better?

Last Updated - December 17, 2025 06:09 pm IST | Dhiraj Singh

The OnePlus 15 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite J5, currently the most powerful mobile chipset with one of the highest AnTuTu scores in the Android market. This review is completely independent—no sponsorship, no collaboration. All performance data is based on testing and long gaming sessions.

By default, BGMI unlocks 120 FPS on the OnePlus 15. Technically, with a certain method, the phone can go up to 165 Hz gaming, but today’s test focuses on the default unlocked settings that most players use:
Smooth graphics + 120 FPS.

The goal was simple—check how well the OnePlus 15 maintains stable 120 FPS, and whether it performs better than the iQOO 13 and upcoming iQOO 15. The device was tested for 3–4 hours of continuous gameplay, across multiple scenarios.

Before starting OnePlus 15 Gaming Test BGMI, it is helpful to know a few key definitions.

What is Anti-Aliasing (AA)?

When you play games, you often notice jagged edges on objects (called jaggies).
Anti-aliasing smooths these edges, making the scene look cleaner, sharper, and more realistic.

The image below clearly shows that on the right, you can see the sharpness in the edges, which is due to anti-aliasing.

What is 2X Anti-Aliasing?

2X AA means the game renders 2 samples per pixel to smooth out edges.

How it works

  • Each pixel is analyzed twice.
  • The game averages the color values to reduce jagged edges.

Effect

  • Moderate smoothing
  • Small performance impact
  • Suitable for mid-range GPUs or mobile gaming
  • Good for 1080p gaming where performance matters

What is 4X Anti-Aliasing?

4X AA means 4 samples per pixel.

How it works

  • Each pixel is checked 4 times.
  • Much more accurate color blending.

Effect

  • Much smoother edges
  • Less shimmer and noise during movement
  • Higher performance cost
  • Better for high-end GPUs or phones with powerful chipsets like Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 / 8 Elite

Here we did some tests in different scenarios..

Test 1 – TDM 120FPS (Smooth + 4X Anti-Aliasing + Pro Gamer Mode ON)

  • Starting battery: 100%, room conditions normal (AC off, only fan on)
  • Starting temperature: 33°C
  • FPS Meter: Built-in OnePlus FPS Meter
  • Mode used: Pro Gamer Mode (similar to Monster Mode on iQOO)

Performance

  • FPS stayed mostly at 120 FPS
  • Minimum FPS observed: 116 FPS
  • No major stutters, no frame drops
  • Very stable gameplay even in high-action TDM situations

Temperature

  • Maximum temperature reached: 38°C

Stability

  • Overall stability remained around 98%

Conclusion:
In TDM, the OnePlus 15 maintains excellent 120 FPS performance even with 4X Anti-Aliasing, and the phone remains cool and stable.

Test 2 – 30 to 60 Minutes Classic Match (Smooth + 4X AA)

This is where long-session performance matters.

FPS Analysis

  • Average FPS: 118 FPS
  • Minimum FPS: 117 FPS
  • Rare dips: 115 FPS
  • Even if FPS goes near 110, the gameplay still feels smooth with no noticeable fluctuations

No major throttling issues were observed in the first hour. Even in jump-hot zones or crowded areas (40+ players), the FPS stayed stable and gameplay remained fluid.

Temperature

  • Overall in-game temperature graph: ~41°C
  • Temperature gun reading: 43°C max

Battery Drop

  • From 100% to 94% after 30 minutes of intense 120FPS gaming with 4X AA

Conclusion:
4X Anti-Aliasing gaming is absolutely playable for long sessions. The phone does get warm, but not uncomfortably hot.

Test 3 – 2X Anti-Aliasing & Anti-Aliasing OFF

After long 4X AA sessions, tests were repeated on 2X AA and then AA OFF.

Observations

  • FPS stability improves further
  • Temperatures decrease by 2–3°C
  • Battery drain becomes lower
  • Even in AA OFF mode, FPS remains 115–120 consistently

Since many users play in 2X or OFF mode, this phone handles both settings effortlessly.

Test 4 – Screen Recording Test (120 FPS + AA OFF)

A 40-minute gameplay session was recorded using default OnePlus screen recording settings:

  • 720p, 8 Mbps

Battery Drain

  • From 79% → 71% (8% drop)

Temperature

  • Maximum temperature recorded: 45°C (front side)

FPS Behavior

  • FPS difference due to screen recording: only 2–3 FPS
  • No performance degradation
  • Gameplay remained smooth and fully playable

Even at 45°C, the phone did not throttle or cap FPS like older OnePlus devices used to do.

When discussing the OnePlus 15, there is just one name for its rival: the IQOO 15. Here is a comparison:
